Peter Diemer

Peter is an experienced entertainment, media, & technology executive with global experience and perspective. He has a long-term and excellent track record in promoting, developing, and growing world-class brands. Diemer has a unique combination of skills, depth of knowledge, relationships and a very clear understanding of the changing landscape and new business models.

At Momentum Media Marketing, in a rapidly changing environment, he shared responsibility for the Strategic direction of the firm and led the CBC Music project. Diemer was a Co-Founder of Hip Digital Media, a pioneer and ground breaker in on-line media distribution, where he assumed the role of Executive Vice President of Strategy & Development. Peter oversaw and steered the client and strategic business development and relationships for the company. Hip Digital’s suite of services includes full music stores for on-line promotions, loyalty initiatives, e-commerce, creative services, on-pack incentives and gaming.

Previously, Diemer was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Yangaroo, and has also held senior level executive positions for Capitol-EMI, MCA/Universal Records, where he was instrumental in managing all artist and media relations, radio and television promotional efforts, and governmental affairs.

At EMI Music Canada, Diemer was the Vice President National Promotion, managing all Artist & Media Relations, Radio and Television Promotional efforts for major Canadian artists Nickelback, Tom Cochrane, Anne Murray, The Tea Party, The Rankin Family, K-OS and international superstars such as The Beatles, Coldplay, Garth Brooks, Norah Jones, Kylie Minogue, Sarah Brightman, Bob Seger, Radiohead, Robbie Williams, Prince, Everclear, Blur, The Beastie Boys, Tim McGraw, Leann Rimes and many more.

During his tenure at Universal Music, he was also responsible for other leading artists such as The Tragically Hip, U2, Melissa Etheridge, Tom Petty, Steve Earle, Huey Lewis and The News, Billy Idol, R.E.M. and Fine Young Cannibals.

Diemer has a degree in Television, Stage and Radio Arts, from S.A.I.T. (Southern Alberta Institute of Technology) in Calgary, Alberta. He’s been actively involved with various music organizations, including the CCMA’S, The Juno Awards, where he chaired the Marketing Committee twice. He is also President of the Callaghan Valley Sport and Cultural Society, the organizing group of the Vancouver/Whistler Spirit Run and is the Chair of the Marketing & Sponsorship Group for the Achilles Track and Field Society, who founded and hosts the world famous Harry Jerome Track Classic.
